JUXTAPOSED

 in my advanced flat pattern making class we were assigned to construct a knit top, bifurcated bottoms and a jacket based off of the two exhibitions, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and FIT's 50 Years of Hip-Hop. i took inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld's time at Chanel and Fendi; conducting a deep dive into his archives from those two Houses. i also took inspiration from fashion worn by rappers in the 1980s-early 2000s.

for my fabrication i chose dead stock leather, dead stock knit, repurposed faux fur, and tweed.
